About Nature

Nature in art has always been more than the simple depiction of landscapes, plants, animals, or the natural world. It can provide a setting for human stories, reflect an emotional state, or become a subject with its own presence and meaning.

Throughout art history, nature has been portrayed as beautiful, peaceful, threatening, mysterious, and uncontrollable. The same landscape can suggest freedom and tranquillity or isolation and vulnerability, depending on how it is experienced and represented.

The artworks presented here explore nature in different ways. Sometimes the natural world is the main subject; elsewhere it surrounds the figures and becomes part of their story. Trees, flowers, water, skies, and landscapes can carry symbolic or emotional meaning rather than functioning simply as background.

Nature also creates a contrast with human attempts to control and organise the world. It grows, changes, disappears, and returns according to its own rhythms, often reminding us that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.

These works combine observations of nature with figurative painting, symbolism, memory, and personal storytelling.
